The Burro Wash Trail is located 7.8 miles south of Hwy 24 on Notom- Bullfrog Road.

HARD – This hike is difficult. It is better if at least 2 people hike this together so they can help each other along.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION

The trail starts out easy in an open wash area. Three miles into the slot canyons start and many obstacles that would be difficult for inexperienced hikers/climbers.

Burro Wash would be very dangerous in rainy weather due to flash flooding.

 

SAFETY
Be careful while hiking this trail. Falling may cause severe injury. Do not hike if there is any chance of rain in the area.

 

TRAIL TIP
Wear shoes or sandals that will be appropriate for walking in water. You may encounter places where you will walk or wade through pools of water.

The beautiful and unique Navajo Sandstone blankets the Burro Wash area. This trail is located right in the heart of the white rock, which sets it apart from the other slot canyons. This makes for fantanstic views that are unique in this area.

Bring your camera and a tripod for the best photographs in the darker areas of the slot canyons. Enjoy the adventure of negotiating the twists and turns of this narrow passage.
